Manual Handling training can an be essential element of a business operating at it’s full potential. Over 1 million work days per year are lost due to injuries sustained from pushing, pulling and lifting movements within the workplace that have resulted in an injury. The risks arising from manual handling have been recognised by the Health and Safety Executive for many years, as evidenced in their regulations and advisory activities promoting good practice.
The Regulations require employers to provide their employees with health and safety information and training – supplemented, as necessary, with more specific information and training on manual handling injury risks and prevention.
This 1 day manual handling course not only meets HSE regulations, it also teaching safe manual handling practising in a variety of situations which will be applicable to your business.

Course syllabus includes:
- Understand the reasons for safe manual handling
- Understand how manual handling risk assessments contribute to improving health and safety
- Understand the principles, types of equipment and testing requirements associated with manual handling safety
- Be able to apply safe manual handling principles
Assessment for this course is on-going by the instructor and the course concludes with a written test. This qualification has no expiry date, however annual refreshers are advised and ensure all practises are kept relevant and up to date.
Maximum number of delegates on this course is 16, all delegates must be age 14+
